The real estate market in the Greater Harrisburg Area stayed consistent with the previous months through the month of January as homes on the market were at an all-time low. The average days on market slightly increased to 31 days from December’s 26 days on market. New listings in the Greater Harrisburg Area increased to 578 new units from December’s low of 434 units. Total active listings on the market slightly decreased to 583 units from the previous months 649 active units. Meanwhile, total units sold decreased to 490 units which was almost a 50% decrease from December’s 744 units sold. The average sales price in the Greater Harrisburg Area was $230,496 which was a decrease of about $7,000 from the previous month but an increase of almost $30,000 from the previous year (Jan 2020). The median sales price for January was $194,700 which decreased by just over $20,000 from the previous month but was also an increase from the previous year by about $15,000 (Jan 2020).
