New listings in the Greater Harrisburg Area in September decreased from the previous month to 745 new units on the market, while the number of home buyers continued to increase. Meanwhile, the total listing inventory decreased to 762 units from August’s 831 total active units. The overall total number of units sold also decreased from August’s 824 units sold to 789 units sold in the Greater Harrisburg Area. The most popular sales price was $199,999 and under with 394 of the units of 789 units sold.
The average sales price increased to $225,564, 2020, which was a slight increase from 2019’s year to date average sales price of $208,499. Similar to the previous month, the median sales price increased by $20,000, from $180,000, 2019, to $200,000 in September 2020. The average days on market continued to decrease from the previous month to 33 days on market as buyers continued to compete for houses.
